Now Who Would Buy This?

Whenever you need to sell a product or an idea, you need to know who you're going to sell to. Would you really want to try to sell dentures to a 10 year old? Well, maybe under certain conditions, but usually the answer is no! Companies will spend millions of dollars to figure out who would want to buy their products. This is called a target market. If you want to sell a product or an idea successfully, you better find that target market or you will not be making any large profits any time soon.

Marketing mix
Selling any product takes some time and a combination of what we call a marketing mix. There are four aspects to this marketing mix, product, price, distribution and promotion.  There are many games which help explain how a business and a target market work. After some research I found the game Lemonade World. Now selling lemonade is something that I had become a professional at in my younger years, but this game captures all of the nostalgia still. If you want to see what this game is all about you're in luck, there is a link to it right here --->Lemonade World

New businesses that arise have the potential for success, but there is never a 100% chance that they will make it. In the recent news Twitter has just released their initial stock offering. This is a major step for a company and in order for them to continue to be successful, they will need to select a price to attract potential investors. Putting out a positive company image and highlighting the potential profits to be made will be the most important step to the future of the Twitter. Problems with the IPO could result in the company becoming stagnant and losing many investors.

Marketing and you

Marketing has been around since the very first humans tried to promote their products. Although what we think of marketing today is far different from what it was then, the concepts have still remained the same. Marketing is summed up as the process of trying to promote a product with the intent to sell it to a different market.

How attractive is this?? ^^^^
It is super fun to make up marketing slogans and then try to associate them with a product. This is a fun way to either waste some time or just create a joke if you have friends.

Weather or not you like marketing, it is still a big part of your life. Its possible that some of your ideologies or opinions have formed due to someone sitting in their office telling you to believe one thing or another. I would put money you would be able to identify some major corporations slogans. Take a swing at "I'm Loving it." Ba da dup da daa. Thats supposed to be McDonalds. Or what about the classic "Eat Fresh" Thats Subway. I suppose the reason there are so many food references is because i'm constantly hungry.

It is easy to just think of marketing as a way to convince a person to buy a product or use a service or whatever you want them to do. Its crazy how much of it there is in our society today. You know we are the "Capitalist America" where selling products or services thrive. Even you too could join in on the fun of the free market if you wanted to.

So maybe this first post isn't Bloggeriffic, but by the end will be a Bloggtastic page. have a good day!
